Speed&Smarts webinar--"boatspeed playbook"--part 3 (April 22, 2026)

St. Joseph River Yacht Club offers a rebroadcast for sailors in our community of Dave Dellenbaugh's highly-regarded February 2026 Speed&Smarts webinar on "boatspeed playbook". 4 sessions are scheduled on successive Wednesday evenings, starting April 8, 2026. The discounted cost is $30 per person, payable at the door with Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check. Attendance includes unlimited replays of all 4 sessions and supporting online resources.

One of the great benefits of these seminars is the camaraderie shared by those who love to sail. We are planning on starting the April 15, April 22, and April 29 sessions at 6:00pm to allow time for all to order food and a drink and visit before the video presentation starts. The sessions will end at 8:30pm.

This presentation will explore the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre—one of the most notorious events in American criminal history—and its unexpected connection to Berrien County. The Sheriff’s Department will share historical insights, local ties to the case, and discuss their unique role in preserving artifacts tied to the event.

Notably, the department currently has possession of the firearms used in the historic 1929 slaying, offering a rare and compelling perspective on this landmark moment in history.

Celebrate the 18th Annual SJRYC Rhumbline Regatta on June 6th, featuring a full day of sailboat racing from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with participation from our fleet and neighboring clubs. While racers are on the water, members can enjoy a variety of onshore activities for all ages, making it a fun day for everyone. In the evening, join us for a great meal from the kitchen followed by live entertainment. Spectator boat opportunities will be available for those interested in watching the racing up close, and all boaters are encouraged to get out on the water and cheer on the teams.
